Mountain biking and cycling
Not only on foot, but also by bike you can explore the beautiful surroundings of the Black Forest. There are a variety of bike tours of different lengths, which are also graded in difficulty, so there is the right route for everyone, whether experienced mountain biker or casual cyclist.
The Black Forest awaits you with a great variety of trails, landscapes and sporting challenges across 8500 km to discover and master. By the way, besides the riding trails, the region also offers large bike parks and smaller fun parks for lots of fun in the saddle.

Be active on the water
The Feldberger Seenlandschaft offers many beautiful lakes with numerous sports opportunities during your vacation. For example, there are surfing and sailing schools and various pedal and rowing boat rentals at Schluchsee and Titisee. The beaches are also popular destinations for a swim. Fishing is allowed at some lakes with a valid fishing license and your guest card. You can get your guest card at the Hotel Köhlerei am See.
Directly in front of our house our guests will find the Windgfällweiher including a beautiful lawn for sunbathing and a public swimming area with SUP rental.
Climbing
Friends of climbing will find an ideal destination the southern Black Forest, because the surrounding area offers many interesting routes of varying difficulty, which invite you to climb.
The approved climbing rocks have been brought up to today’s usual protection standard by IG Klettern Südschwarzwald, the DAV Sektionen and some local climbing clubs. In addition, helpful information boards about climbing and nature conservation have been set up so that climbing in the southern Black Forest can be practiced in a nature-friendly manner.
Winter sports
In the cold season, the Köhlerei am See offers the ideal accommodation for all snow enthusiasts. In the surrounding area there are many ski lifts, which are especially suitable for skiing beginners. However, the more experienced skier can also experience black runs or mogul slopes here. The lift association Feldberg entails nine villages with 41 ski lifts and more than 65 kilometers of slopes.
In addition to the ski slopes, the Feldberg also offers numerous cross-country trails for your cross-country skiing pleasure and opportunities for fantastic winter or snowshoe hikes through snow-covered forests or on sunny peaks with a view over the snow-covered nature.
If you like to watch the others doing sports with a hot drink in your hand, you can do this for example at the annual ski jumping. This spectacle is definitely worth a visit and takes place not only in winter, but also in summer.
