Directly in the nature of the Black Forest on the shore of the cozy Windgfällweiher lies our hotel Köhlerei am See (formerly Hotel Schlehdorns Seehof) in the perfect location for your vacation at the Feldberg in the Black Forest. In the surroundings of the Feldberg lake district, our guests will find closeness to nature as well as many different leisure activities – you can look forward to fantastic hikes, exciting water sport opportunities or active skiing days at the Feldberg in the High Black Forest.
The charcoal burning craft has a centuries-old tradition in the Black Forest. The task of the charcoal burner was to produce charcoal from wood. The forest that borders our hotel is therefore still called Kohlwald. Since tradition and the typical Black Forest coziness are particularly important to us here at the Feldberg, we have interpreted history in a modern way and combined the rustic brewery with the old craft of the charcoal burner in the new design of our rooms – according to the motto: Brewery meets Industrial Style. Thus, our house – as well as our restaurant reflect a combination of coziness and modernity. The charcoal burner craft is reflected in our design concept with lots of wood, steel and muted colors.

Our rooms
All our rooms offer a beautiful view either directly onto the Windgfällweiher – one of the lakes of the Feldberg lake district – or onto the evergreen fir forests of the Black Forest. Also in the cold season, a beautiful winter landscape awaits our guests here.
Nine of our 13 rooms also have their own balconies, where you can wonderfully enjoy the Black Forest scenery of the Feldberg. In each room our guests will find a TV as well as a private bathroom with shower. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served buffet style in our restaurant.
Please note that all our rooms, despite our name Köhlerei am See, are non-smoking rooms. Dogs are welcome in our house and can be brought along for a small cleaning fee.
Our comfort
Our hotel offers other amenities such as a special room for skis for our active snow lovers of the Feldberg as well as free private parking. In the future, e-bikes can be easily rented at our house.
Of course, you can use our WIFI free of charge in all areas of the Köhlerei am See.
An absolute highlight will be our new barrel sauna on the second floor of our hotel with panoramic views of the lake. The sauna offers space for up to 4 people and is open from 12pm – 8pm for our guests (different opening hours in summer). Relax after an eventful day in the Feldberg lake district and experience the full sauna pleasure in the wonderful scenery of the Black Forest.

In our restaurant in the Köhlerei am See at the Feldberg you can expect delicacies from the Black Forest region prepared in a special way. Fresh fish, regional meat dishes, delicious vegetarian dishes or even a traditional Black Forest Vesper – in the Köhlerei am See you will find what you are looking for.
Our chef Frank Beckert is strongly rooted in the Black Forest and treats our guests to Baden cuisine and Black Forest specialties, prepared from regional ingredients.
