Schluchsee, Titisee & Wutach Gorge
Explore the highlights of the region! Schluchsee, one of the cleanest lakes in Germany, has numerous bathing areas for dogs. At Titisee, you can rent a canoe or pedal boat together or take a boat tour (on a leash). For true adventurers, the nearby Wutach Gorge is the ideal place to play, romp, and splash around in a wild and romantic setting.

Our modern industrial-style rooms offer plenty of space for a dog bed and food bowl, so your dog will feel right at home. Your dog is also welcome to accompany you to our restaurant—our staff will be happy to provide a water bowl.

A relaxed New Year’s Eve with your dog
Are you looking for a place to retreat to for the New Year? As the Köhlerei is in a very quiet location, dogs that are sensitive to noise can spend New Year’s Eve with us in a much more stress-free environment. Our spacious rooms can easily accommodate up to two pets. This makes the transition into the New Year a relaxed experience for both humans and animals, without the usual noise of fireworks.
Dog grooming salon at Köhlerei am See
The Wildpfoten dog grooming salon will be opening on May 14, 2026 on the grounds of Köhlerei am See. The salon will offer professional and loving coat care for all four-legged friends in the future. Its proximity makes the dog grooming salon particularly attractive for our guests. While the Wildpfoten dog grooming salon takes care of professional grooming, we offer our guests dog-friendly accommodation for a relaxing stay with their dog.

The mild climate and extensive network of hiking and biking trails make the Black Forest a top destination for dog owners. Tip: On the Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH website, you’ll find numerous suggested routes that have been tested and recommended by local dog lovers.
Your faithful companions are more than welcome here! A maximum of 2 dogs per room is allowed. We charge a flat fee of €17 per night per dog to cover the additional cleaning costs. (Note: In the event of exceptionally heavy soiling of rooms or furniture, we reserve the right to charge for cleaning costs.)
Your dog is welcome to accompany you almost everywhere in the hotel. The wellness area is the only place where pets are not allowed. While you relax there, your dog is welcome to stay in the room on its own. In the restaurant, we ask that your dog sit on the floor (not on chairs, benches, or your lap).
Out of consideration for other guests, we ask that you keep your dog on a leash at all times throughout the hotel and on the hotel grounds. Outside, the surrounding meadows offer plenty of open space. However, please observe local regulations and always keep your dog on a leash in nature reserves to protect wildlife.
Please bring everything your pet needs to feel comfortable: a water bowl, leash, bed or blanket, and their favorite toy. If you happen to forget something important, our front desk will be happy to assist you with recommendations for specialty stores in the area.
